In Home Respite Care

Supporting & uplifting adults living with dementia by improving quality of life.

Purple House Services is dedicated to providing choice, respect and support to each and every one of our clients.

Comprehensive market research shows that many adults who need supportive living amenities, prefer to live in their own home or a home-like environment. We believe in supporting and highlighting ABILITIES and in fostering an environment where those living with Dementia can thrive through the golden years with dignity and normalcy. Our staff are trained and certified in Dementiability and we focus on continually updating their education to support the latest developments and discoveries surrounding this disease. Our clinical team are leading professionals in the community and provide support to each client in their specific and individualized care plan.

“The concept for our organization was born out of the belief that everyone deserves to live, age, and thrive with integrity. Those living with and affected by dementia are often overlooked and under supported.”

OUR MISSION

We focus on the social, physical, and mental needs while enhancing ABILITIES.

The DementiAbility Concept

Our complete executive team and staff are DementiAbility trained and certified. Certification demonstrates that we know how to put Abilities ahead of inabilities and DementiAbility Method practices are integrated into each client interaction.

THE GOAL

DementiAbility’s goal is to expose the abilities – and the potential – of each person living with dementia. Through innovative evidence-based, person-centred education, resources, tips, tools and approaches to dementia care, professionals and other care partners will know how to support the whole person in a prepared environment that aims to set each person up for success thereby helping each person to live each day with meaning, purpose, high self-esteem, independence, love, a sense of belonging and joy.

THE CONCEPT

Behavioural changes related to dementia are difficult to understand and address – especially for family and other care partners who take on the role of “caregiver”. The concept focuses on helping professionals and family care partners to understand the connections between the brain, a person’s life story, the environment, and behaviour. With an emphasis on enhancing abilities, the foundation teaches how to set environments and individuals up for success, thereby helping each person to be the best he/she can be.

“My dad just loves to sit and have me hold his hand. Some individuals need the human touch and others just need someone to listen. We allow staff the time to sit and visit with our clients. By having sufficient staff, we enable each client to do all they can with what skillset they posess. We enrich their home life with experiences from their past by communicating and having direct relations with their family. We find out all the music, hobbies and fun things they love to do and learn about THEIR life story.”
