Purple House Services is the first of its kind within the Kawartha Lakes. Offering two divisions of service: Care Crew: our PSW in Home division and Bob’s Place (Set to Open in 2024) : a secured Home-style setting to support those living with the diagnosis of Dementia. 

We are a professional company with an innovative approach to supporting and uplifting those living with and affected by dementia and other ailments. We provide personalized 1:1 Care for our Clients.

Full Job Description

Care Crew Solutions, a division of Purple House, offers in-home support to help those age well in place in the comfort of their own home.

You work well within a team and are respectful, approachable, and build strong relationships.

You are calm during a critical moment, stay positive, respond decisively, and take accountability.

Must be willing to travel within Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas to support clients.

The ideal candidate will provide/demonstrate:

One of the following criteria:

  • Successful completion of an Ontario Ministry of Education-approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or a school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges  RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy students with successful completion of Year 1

  • Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray. (within the last two years)

  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid Certificate.

  • Criminal Reference Check and vulnerable sector check upon hire confirming absence of a criminal history/record.

  • A valid driver’s license, class G, and vehicle for which you are insured and the ability to drive within Kawartha Lakes Region.

  • A strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of their clients.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience working with clients with significant and complex care needs.

  • To protect our clients, candidates must provide proof of up-to-date vaccination status in accordance with Public Health Guidelines.

  • Experience working in the community as a PSW is an asset.

  • Possess a compassionate and flexible nature, and a client-centered approach to caregiving.

  • Adherence to all policies, including confidentiality.

  • Ability to accept verbal and/or written direction, perform delegated tasks.

  • Ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the job.

  • Good interpersonal, communication & time-management skills,

  • Prior experience with Dementia an asset.

  • Medication administration course - Pharmacology Certificate for PSWs an asset, but not required; willingness to learn.

  • Positive and respectful work environment.

Part-time permanent positions available with shift work. Starting rate of pay will be based on experience and certifications with terms and conditions of employment.

Scheduled hours include but are not limited to:

  • Day shift

  • Night shift

  • Weekends

  • Holidays

We offer paid orientation. Some training is specialized as it provides staff with focused look at how to care for people with dementia. The training we provide to our team to elevate their care and ensure we are doing more for our clients, does come at a cost. We want staff to be the best they can be, and we have asked that this investment be redirected back into us and our clients. We will do all we can to make the work life balance a successful one.
