Frequently Asked Questions

My loved one doesn’t have Dementia, can you still help us?

Yes! Although our specialty and expertise is in Dementia Care, we can support those unaffected by the disease. If you or your loved one needs care, companionship or respite support, contact us today for more information.

What does this process look like?

We like to start off by getting to know the person we are going to care for. Whether it’s a quick phone call or coffee, we want to understand what your needs are. Following this, our Care Manager will go over some medical questions so we can understand the level of care required and can then partner the most appropriate PSW or Companion to YOU.

What if I don’t want to do an assessment?

We understand that an assessment can be intimidating or make someone who doesn’t think they need help or support feel uncomfortable, that’s why we like to have a conversation before meeting with you to understand as much as possible. Basic medical details are required to provide the best care we can, so a discussion with our Care Manager on what those documents and details are and how to obtain them can all be done with a quick phone call.

How much does this cost?

We offer a few different levels of care and can provide support in different regions with in the City of Kawartha Lakes, ON. Depending on the level, frequency and location of care we can provide rates directly to you with a simply phone call.

Do my benefits cover these services?

We would be happy to look at the benefit coverage you have and support with the appropriate documentation so you can claim services should you have the appropriate coverage.

What are your qualifications?

All of our staff have completed the DementiAbility training and have their appropriate and designated credentials. Our Personal Support Workers have their Certificates with recognition in Ontario and they are supported and lead by our Resident Registered Nurse. We continually offer additional training and education to ensure we are up to date on all CPR, Employment Standards and Quality Assurance Measures. We are happy to provide proof of qualifications and credentials during any of our assessment and on-boarding meetings.
